All around the world, ever more media facades are illuminating the cities, with buildings and light spots merging with one another and buildings being developed into media screens or animated architecture. Which kind of media facades and medial architecture can be realized today? Which new com-munication formats will shape the townscapes of the future and move their inhabitants? Where do sense and nonsense lie in medial architecture?

Which are the current ground-breaking innovations in the field of mobile applications? Business ideas qualifying for this label can be discovered on the GFT stand at the CeBIT in Hanover from 6th to 10th of March. The jury of the global innovative competition CODE_n 12 selected 50 finalists from over 400 submissions.

Following the huge success of the Ideas Park in recent years, ThyssenKrupp will again host this interactive hands-on exhibition in 2012, from 11 to 23 August 2012 in Essen. This was announced by the technology group at a press conference yesterday.

Not only was the German Pavilion at EXPO 2010 in Shanghai extremely popular with the predominantly Chinese audience, its quality was also highly valued by the Asian experts. Especially the Sphere of balancity seems to have left a strong impression in Asia. Now, the interactive Sphere in the German Pavilion has received yet another award for excellence in communication design: the „Design for Asia Award“ (DFAA).

Young adult environments were the subject of a recent lecture at the Stuttgart Media University. Stefanie Fächner, member of the Faculty of Electronics, invited media experts Peter Ludwig and Thomas Frenzel from Milla & Partner as guest lecturers. With geart enthusiasm, they presented the work of the Innovation Laboratory at Milla & Partner and explained new forms of interactive exhibits and media productions.

Last weekend, 1.400 visitors came from near and far to attend the opening of the Erwin Hymer Museum in Bad Waldsee. On 6000 square meters and featuring 80 historic mobile homes spanning eight decades, the historical vehicle collection of founder Erwin Hymer highlights the development of the vehicles: some are from industrial production, others are fascinating do-it-yourself constructions or very individual productions.
